Baja Joe's is located in a small (population 60 or so) fishing village about 45 minutes south of La Paz.  The surrounding towns support the local agriculture.  No Walmart, Albertson's or Safeway here.

Evenings are usually spent taking quiet walks on the beach, socializing with new and old friends, cooking the days catch, or just relaxing under a sky filled with more stars than one could ever imagine.

The locals are friendly (understatement) and often join us for a casual barbeque or on a fishing trip.  Here, Joe's good friend Yoyo brings a tasty treat from the Pacific Ocean.

Meals can be enjoyed alone, or shared with others.  There are several small restaurants within walking distance or you can cook in our kitchen.

When someone goes fishing, there is almost always a feast.  The seas are plentiful and there is usually more than enough for everybody.

What would Mexico be without a little fiesta now and then.  Mexican beers are some of the best in the world and the tequila speaks for itself.  Most nights are quiet, but on occasion - someone's birthday, an epic sailing day, a good friend leaving - we break out the blender.

For a more festive evening, you can make the 45 minute journey to La Paz.  Still a beautiful fishing village, La Paz has yet to be corrupted with all of the U.S. style capitalism like Cabo San Lucas.

Plan to stay the night, as the drinks are strong and the road back to La Ventana is dark and narrow.
